An executive producer of a motion picture or media project is typically a producer who is not necessarily involved in any creative or technical aspects of production, but rather provides a portion of the film's budget in exchange for a share of the film's overall revenue. To put it simply, you pay a portion of the project's expenses (anywhere from $5,000 to $100,000), then you take home a negotiable share of the film's monthly revenue - for life.
